Meet Lauren

Lauren is the director of our EW Run program. Lauren’s passion is providing an unparalleled running experience to the Birmingham community in order to facilitate lifelong running. Mike Eskridge, one of EW’s founding partners, said, “Lauren is an excellent leader, and with her credentials, she is positioned to give our running clients an experience they will never forget.”
Lauren earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama. After graduation, she moved to Houston where she graduated from Texas Woman’s University with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She is a Sports Certified Specialist through the APTA, a Manual Therapy Fellow through AAOMPT, and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through NSCA. She also holds certifications in dry needling, running rehabilitation, concussion management, blood flow restriction, and clinical instruction. Lauren proudly serves as lead faculty and mentor for the Institute for Athlete Regeneration to fellows in training across the country. She also leads the Running Rehabilitation Specialist Certification offered through IAR at various locations nationwide.
With a background of all-state high school and collegiate sports, Lauren’s clinical interests include treating the lower extremity athlete, specifically the endurance athlete. She enjoys hitting the pavement for a good run while training for her next race or cross-training in the gym with HIIT workouts or yoga. In her free time, you will find Lauren with her husband Taylor, son Luke, and daughter Molly either on the water, on the trail, or cheering on the Crimson Tide.
