Meet Ellie Jo

Ellie Jo’s passion is to connect, encourage, and positively impact everyone she encounters through yoga. She believes everyone can do yoga and expertly meets clients where they are. “Yoga should be fun, never intimidating,” Ellie Jo says, “It’s an excellent way to balance mind and body while promoting healthy movement patterns."

Through her background as a physical therapist, she identifies movement imbalances and applies corrective yoga techniques to empower healthy motion." Ellie Jo teaches private and small group classes, participates in weekly developmental training, and avidly pursues continuing education. She has been influenced and received advanced training from Master Instructors including Julie Gudmestad, Gary Kraftsow, Judith Hanson Lasater, Annie Carpenter, and Bo Forbes. Ellie Jo is Yoga and Thai Yoga Massage Certified and has advanced training in Pilates Reformer, Pre and Postpartum Health, and Biomechanics. She began teaching yoga in 2009. Her areas of interest include women’s health, biomechanics, athletes, balance and fall prevention, and promoting health and vitality in the adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient through yoga. Ellie Jo regularly shares her knowledge and experience as a guest lecturer. Ellie Jo stays healthy and active through weekly yoga and Pilates classes, walking, and cycling. She serves the greater community as a board member for The Bell Center for Early Intervention Programs and The Service Guild of Alabama. A native of Rayville, Louisiana, she has lived in Homewood since 2005.
